Environmental Product Declaration Assistance Fund
This program provides financial assistance to Maryland businesses producing cement or concrete mixes to help them create and verify Environmental Product Declarations that detail the environmental impacts of their products.
Description
The Environmental Product Declaration Assistance Fund (EPDAF) is a grant program operated by the Maryland Department of Commerce. It provides financial support to businesses producing cement or concrete mixes to help them develop and verify Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), which standardize and increase transparency regarding the environmental impacts of their products.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for a grant, your business must:
Be an existing business in good standing with the State of Maryland.
Have completed and submitted an EPDAF grant application.
Have incurred expenses after July 1, 2023 related to:
Conducting a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
Producing an LCA report.
Drafting and verifying an EPD.
Application Process:
Application Period: Applications open on May 28, 2024 and will be accepted until funds are exhausted.
Required Attachments:
W9 form.
Evidence of good standing with the State of Maryland (a screenshot from the Maryland Business Express website suffices).
Receipts for reimbursable expenses incurred after July 1, 2023, related to the EPD process.
Proof of payment (e.g., a copy of the check or credit card statement, with account numbers redacted).
Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and there are no fees or costs to apply. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
