Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Research Infrastructure Programs (ORIP) invites applications for the Limited Competition: Small Grant Program for ORIP Special Emphasis Research Career Award (SERCA) K01 Recipients (R03 Clinical Trials Not Allowed). This program supports ORIP SERCA K01 recipients who have completed at least two years of their award to conduct research and transition to fully independent investigator status.
The R03 mechanism is designed for small, self-contained projects, including pilot and feasibility studies, secondary data analyses, research methodology development, and the creation of new research technologies. Projects must be realistic for completion within two years and require limited funding. Proposals involving clinical trials are not permitted.
Eligible applicants include ORIP SERCA K01 awardees who meet the two-year minimum requirement. The program does not require cost-sharing or matching. Applications are open until May 7, 2026, with a current deadline of January 7, 2025.
