Description
United Way Wayne and Holmes Counties (UWWH) is now accepting applications for its 2025 community grant funding. These grants are designed to address needs-based requests from local nonprofits working to improve the lives of residents in Holmes and Wayne Counties. Over the last decade, UWWH has awarded over $14 million in funding to local organizations addressing critical community issues. The application period is open from October 1, 2024, with a deadline of 5 PM on December 13, 2024.
Grant funding supports UWWH’s mission to mobilize resources that benefit the community. Applications are reviewed by the “Investment Team,” a group of community volunteers and UWWH donors who evaluate submissions and make funding recommendations to the UWWH Board of Directors. Funding is guided by four focus areas: Health/Mental Health/Substance Abuse Treatment, Safety Net/Basic Needs, Workforce Development, and Youth Development.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits registered with the Ohio Secretary of State or governmental organizations such as schools, voluntary associations, or faith-based groups. All organizations must be governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, with no members receiving remuneration, and must provide services within Wayne and/or Holmes Counties.
A question-and-answer session for potential applicants will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 215 S. Walnut St., Wooster, with sessions at 11 AM and 4 PM. A virtual option is also available; interested parties should contact the office for details. Awards will be announced in March 2025.
Applications are available online at uwwh.org under the "GET FUNDING" section. For questions or assistance, applicants may contact UWWH at info@uwwh.org or call (330) 264-5576.
