Jewish Women's Foundation Spring Grant Cycle
This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in New Jersey that empower and assist women and girls through impactful projects.
Description
The Jewish Women’s Foundation of New Jersey (JWF-NJ) offers two grant cycles: the Fall Impact Grants and the Spring Large Grants, both designed to support nonprofit organizations in New Jersey that empower and assist women and girls. The Fall Impact Grants provide up to $5,000 for projects with a strong potential for immediate impact, while the Spring Large Grants offer up to $25,000 for larger, more comprehensive initiatives. Both grant opportunities are competitive, with specific eligibility criteria and deadlines.
The Fall Impact Grants (2024-2025) are intended for smaller, self-contained projects or initiatives that can significantly benefit from a modest grant. Organizations that can demonstrate that the grant will be timely, address an urgent need, or jumpstart a project are encouraged to apply. Additionally, eligibility requires that the organization must not have received $3,000 or more in funding from JWF-NJ within the last five years and must have an annual budget of under $250,000. Applications must be submitted through the FOUNDANT system using the access code "JWF-IMP25," with the deadline for proposals set for October 7, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by November 12, 2024, and funds will be disbursed in early December. All project funds must be used by June 30, 2025, and a final report is due by July 31, 2025.
The Spring Large Grants (2025-2026) provide more substantial funding, with a maximum request of $25,000. These grants support New Jersey-based projects aligned with the foundation's mission, with a particular focus on empowering women and girls. Organizations must first submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) via the FOUNDANT system, using the access code "JWF-FY25," by January 22, 2025. The JWF-NJ trustees will review the LOIs and invite selected organizations to submit full proposals. Full proposals are due by April 2, 2025, and site visits—either in-person or virtual—will take place between April 23 and May 8, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified on or before May 22, 2025, with initial funding released on July 1, 2025. The grant period concludes on June 30, 2026, with final reports due by July 31, 2026. Interim reports will also be required in January 2026, at which point the second half of the funds will be released.
Both grant opportunities emphasize the foundation’s commitment to making a measurable impact in the community. JWF-NJ is particularly interested in projects that can demonstrate clear, tangible outcomes and that align with their mission of supporting women and girls. The foundation encourages applicants to review their Grant Guidelines for more details on eligibility and to access sample applications to better understand the submission requirements. All applications must be submitted through the FOUNDANT grantmaking system, and incomplete or late submissions will not be considered.
This funding is ideal for smaller organizations in New Jersey that are looking for financial support to carry out time-sensitive, impactful projects focused on women’s empowerment. Interested applicants should carefully consider the deadlines and ensure their applications meet the foundation's criteria to maximize their chances of success.
