Description
The FY25-26 Richland County Natural Resource Grant Program, administered by the Richland County Conservation Commission (RCCC), provides funding to support environmental conservation and educational initiatives. Grants of up to $20,000 are available for projects that protect or improve water quality, build or enhance trails, develop greenway plans, implement green infrastructure, and create environmental education programs. This grant is designed to foster public benefit and conservation activity throughout Richland County, South Carolina.
Eligible applicants include neighborhood organizations, governmental agencies, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and commercial entities that have been operational for at least one year. Projects must comply with eligibility requirements, such as public access and public benefit, and align with RCCC conservation priorities. Funds are provided on an 80/20 matching basis, where applicants must contribute 20% of the total project cost through cash or in-kind contributions.
Applications open on December 1, 2024, and must be submitted by February 1, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified in July 2025, with project activities commencing after grant agreements are signed. All projects must be completed by June 15, 2026, with no extensions beyond June 30, 2026.
