This grant provides funding to local nonprofit organizations in Cave Creek and the Desert Foothills region to support projects that improve community health, safety, culture, and historical preservation.
Description
The 2024 Town of Cave Creek Community Grant Program is currently accepting applications, with a deadline of December 2, 2024. This grant program provides up to $10,000 in funding to qualifying local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in Cave Creek and the Desert Foothills region. These grants aim to support projects that enhance the community's health, safety, welfare, culture, and historical preservation, aligning with Cave Creek’s General and Strategic Plans. Through this program, the Town seeks to make a meaningful impact on community well-being by supporting initiatives that serve public interests and promote positive community development.
Eligible applicants for this grant must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations as defined by the IRS. Programs should clearly articulate their community impact, with objectives focused on improving aspects of health, safety, welfare, culture, or historical preservation in the area. Additionally, all projects must have defined, measurable goals and a realistic plan for achieving them. To qualify, programs must have been in operation for at least one year and demonstrate financial sustainability through alternative funding sources beyond this grant.
Grant funds are specifically designated to support the programs described in each application and cannot be used for indirect costs like salaries or administrative fees. Furthermore, the program does not provide funding to individuals, families, or organizations that do not meet the IRS definition of a charitable purpose. This includes ineligible groups such as political parties, religious organizations, and political action committees.
Applications will be evaluated by a five-member Community Grants Committee comprising a current Cave Creek Town Council member, two residents, one business leader, and a senior member of the town staff. This committee reviews each application and submits its funding recommendations to the Cave Creek Town Council for final approval. Applicants can find the grant application and additional details about the review process on the town’s official website, www.cavecreekaz.gov.
Completed applications are due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024. Submissions must be emailed to townclerk@cavecreekaz.gov or hand-delivered to the Cave Creek Town Clerk’s office. Late submissions or additional materials received after the deadline will not be accepted.
