Matson Community Giving
This program provides financial support and resources to non-profit organizations focused on community improvement in areas such as education, environmental conservation, and cultural initiatives, particularly where Matson operates.
Description
The Matson Charitable Giving Program, administered by Matson, Inc., is designed to support not-for-profit, charitable, and community organizations in locations where Matson operates. Emphasizing the company's commitment to improving quality of life, the program, as highlighted by CEO Matt Cox, contributes funds, goods, and services across various community needs. Focus areas include maritime environment and ocean resource conservation, education, human services, culture and arts, and civic and community programs. In addition to cash donations, Matson also provides sponsorship support for fundraising events benefiting worthy causes. To be eligible for funding, organizations must align with Matson's priorities, demonstrate potential for positive community impact, and provide evidence of sustainable and measurable outcomes. The program prioritizes projects actively supported by Matson employees and those that are cost-effective. Donations are not made to individuals, political activities, or for primarily legislative influence purposes. Matson generally limits its support to one donation per calendar year to any single non-profit organization. Interested organizations can apply online and are encouraged to reach out to Matson employees for further engagement in the application process. Additionally, Matson's policy includes specific guidelines for international donations to comply with the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
