This grant provides funding to non-profit and community organizations in East Knoxville to promote equity and address disparities in areas such as education, homeownership, and small business development.
Description
The African American Equity Restoration Task Force (AAERTF) Grant supports efforts to address disparities and promote equity in East Knoxville. Non-profit and community-based organizations can apply for awards of $10,000 or $20,000 to fund programming in the areas of Education, Community Investment & Engagement, Homeownership, Small Business Development & Entrepreneurship, and Workforce Equity. Programs must be carried out between March 2025 and November 2025, with funding awarded in March 2025.
Eligible projects must align with the task force’s mission of improving generational wealth-building opportunities and addressing disenfranchisement in East Knoxville. Funds can be used for programming, stipends, payments, or other services directly related to the targeted investment areas. Applicants should demonstrate the potential for measurable impact within the community and provide a post-project report detailing activities, demographics of participants, and program outcomes.
Applications are due by December 5, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. This is a competitive process, and some applications may not be funded or may receive partial funding. Previous funding from the Community Safety and Empowerment Department does not guarantee selection in this cycle.
Applicants are encouraged to review the grant guidelines thoroughly and prepare proposals that align closely with the program’s goals. For assistance with the application or guidelines, contact Tiffany Davidson at TDavidson@KnoxvilleTN.gov or Deedee Chism at DChism@KnoxvilleTN.gov.
