United Way of the Concho Valley seeks to improve health, education, and financial stability in the Concho Valley through partnerships with local public and private organizations. Their funding initiative supports local programs and services that address critical community needs. The Community Partner Funding Application requires a detailed narrative about the applicant's agency and program. Applicants must describe the agency’s mission, the community needs they address, their programmatic approaches, and expected outcomes. Supporting documentation includes financial statements, organizational audits, IRS 990 forms, governance practices, and evidence of measurable program impacts.
Eligible organizations must address key United Way priorities, such as school readiness and literacy for children, eliminating child abuse and domestic violence, improving access to mental health and substance abuse services, and providing homelessness prevention and outreach. Applicants must demonstrate sound financial management, governance by a Board of Directors, and compliance with all federal and state laws. Minimum eligibility criteria also require the organization to be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit offering health and human services in the Concho Valley. Policies on non-discrimination, diversity, equity, and inclusion must be in place, and financial submissions must include an annual certified audit and IRS 990 tax form.
A site visit by United Way’s Community Impact volunteers is part of the review process, providing an opportunity for applicants to showcase their programs. These visits are scheduled between January 23, 2024, and February 16, 2024, with exact dates to be confirmed in advance. Attendance at one of the Community Partner Funding Application Training sessions on October 23 or October 24, 2024, is recommended for applicants.
Key application dates include the release of the application on October 24, 2024, and a firm submission deadline of December 18, 2024, at 4:00 pm. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Funding decisions will be communicated to applicants in early April 2024. Applications must be submitted through the designated online portal; paper submissions are not accepted.
Resources to assist applicants, such as examples and attachments, are provided but are supplemental to the online application. Interested organizations should prepare thoroughly to meet all stated requirements and deadlines to maximize their chances of securing funding.
