2025 Summit County Restaurant Tax Grant
This grant provides financial support to local governments, governmental subdivisions, and nonprofit organizations in Summit County for projects that enhance community services and amenities.
Description
The 2025 Restaurant Grant Financial Reporting Guidelines outline the reporting requirements for entities that have received funding from the Summit County Restaurant Tax Fund. All governmental entities, governmental subdivisions, and nonprofit organizations that have been awarded grants must submit a detailed written report demonstrating the use of funds. The report must be accompanied by supporting documentation to ensure compliance with the grant’s restrictions. Failure to submit the required documentation will result in ineligibility for future grants. Additionally, recipients who fail to provide the necessary documentation may face penalties, including a reduction in future grant amounts.
To be deemed acceptable, the financial report must include a cover letter containing essential details such as the organization’s name, grant agreement number, and contact information for the individual submitting the report. Additionally, the cover letter must include a copy of Paragraph 2 from the 2024 Summit County Restaurant Tax Grant Program Agreement titled "Recipient Responsibilities." The recipient must also provide a brief statement confirming that the funds were used in accordance with the grant’s restrictions. Furthermore, the statement should outline the goods or services that Summit County received in exchange for the granted tax dollars.
The financial report must also include an Expense Statement, which serves as a comprehensive and itemized list of expenditures made using the granted funds. The Expense Statement must be substantiated with appropriate supporting documents, including invoices, canceled checks, or a copy of a bank statement with the relevant expenses clearly marked.
All financial reports must be titled using the corresponding grant agreement number (e.g., “RES-06-25”). Reports must be submitted online in a single file format via the designated submission portal at Summit County Restaurant Tax Grant Submission. Partial reports that contain missing information will be rejected and must be re-submitted to be considered.
It is the responsibility of the grant recipient to ensure that all required documentation is submitted by the designated deadline. The report serves as a key requirement for ensuring compliance with the grant terms and maintaining eligibility for future funding opportunities from the Summit County Restaurant Tax Fund.
