The Daviess County Visitors Bureau offers the Capital Project Grant Program, also known as the Quality of Place Grant Program, to support nonprofit organizations that aim to enhance the public environment and community experience in Daviess County, Indiana. With grants of up to $10,000 available, this funding opportunity is intended to help develop or improve public spaces, cultural venues, and community amenities that directly contribute to the county’s livability and appeal for both residents and visitors.
The program seeks to fund projects that enrich community life, foster civic pride, and support sustainable development. Eligible projects must improve public spaces or amenities that are accessible to the general public. Examples may include parks, streetscapes, community facilities, signage, and enhancements to cultural or recreational attractions. To qualify, applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations based in or serving Daviess County. Projects should involve enhancements that are functional and aesthetic in nature and must present a clear plan for community impact. While matching funds or in-kind contributions are not required, they are strongly encouraged and will be considered favorably in the application review process. Collaborative efforts between organizations are also prioritized.
Applicants must complete the official application form, which includes a comprehensive project description, objectives, a timeline with key milestones, and a detailed budget covering project costs, funding sources, and any in-kind contributions. Supporting materials such as letters of support, project illustrations, or photos of the site are welcome. Submissions must be made by May 31, 2025, to be eligible for consideration during the 2025 cycle.
The Daviess County Tourism Commission will review all applications, evaluating each proposal based on impact, feasibility, alignment with the program’s goals, and sustainability. Award decisions will be communicated by June 30, 2025. Funded applicants must sign a grant agreement outlining conditions and expectations. After project completion, recipients are required to submit a final report within 30 days, documenting outcomes, financial expenditures, and overall success.
