Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Research Grants
This funding opportunity supports independent researchers worldwide in conducting fundamental studies to improve understanding and treatment of cystic fibrosis, focusing on disease mechanisms and potential therapies.
Description
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) invites applications for its Basic Research Grants Program, aimed at supporting fundamental research to advance understanding and treatment of cystic fibrosis (CF). The foundation seeks proposals that are hypothesis-driven and supported by sufficient preliminary data to justify funding. The scope of eligible research includes studies at subcellular, cellular, animal, or patient levels, with a focus on understanding disease mechanisms such as airway defense defects, microbial adaptation, mucociliary clearance, airway hydration, and extrapulmonary manifestations of CF.
Grants of up to $150,000 per year (plus an additional 12 percent for indirect costs) are available for a duration of up to three years, with opportunities for competitive renewal. Priority will be given to projects addressing disease pathophysiology and the development of preventative or treatment strategies. Clinical interventional studies are not eligible for this funding mechanism.
Both U.S. and international applicants are welcome. Applicants must be independent investigators to qualify for this opportunity.
The application deadline is December 12, 2024. For further details on program guidelines and submission requirements, visit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation website.
