Idaho Dental Foundation Grant
This grant provides financial support to community organizations in Idaho that improve oral health access and education for underserved and uninsured populations.
Description
The Idaho Dental Foundation (IDF) is a charitable endowment committed to improving oral health among underserved and uninsured citizens in the state of Idaho. Through its grantmaking process, the Foundation supports community-based organizations and programs that directly advance oral health education and access to care. The IDF’s vision is to enhance the oral health of Idaho’s most vulnerable populations by addressing both access and awareness.
Eligible applicants must be organizations principally active in Idaho. Proposals must align with one or both of the Foundation’s core funding objectives: improving oral health outcomes among Idaho’s uninsured populations and enhancing oral health services for underserved communities across the state. Grants are awarded based on alignment with these objectives and on demonstrated quality of program delivery and organizational management. Applications are evaluated for potential community impact and preference is given to projects that are not already substantially funded by other sources.
Typical grants awarded range from $1,000 to $2,500. These grants are provided on a one-time basis, and recipients should not assume continued funding in future years. Proposals that demonstrate that an IDF grant will have a meaningful and measurable impact on a project are more likely to be prioritized. Funding decisions are based solely on the contents of the application and concrete examples of past community impact.
The IDF does not fund general operational costs, fundraising, political campaigns, or travel outside of Idaho. Salaries and consultant fees are only considered if they are incidental and minimal components of the overall project budget. Other ineligible costs include endowments, fellowships, cash reserves, and re-granting activities. The Foundation also excludes support for policy research, public advocacy, or organizations accumulating funds for later redistribution.
Grant applications must be complete and clearly aligned with IDF’s goals. While no recurring funding is promised, IDF seeks to make strategic investments in projects that represent high value and transformative potential within the field of oral health care in Idaho.
