Charge Up Michigan - Light-Duty Zero Emission Vehicle Supply Equipment Program
This program provides funding to organizations in Michigan to establish a network of fast charging stations for electric vehicles, helping to reduce harmful emissions and support EV travel across the state.
Description
The Charge Up Michigan program, administered by the Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), aims to develop a comprehensive network of Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) stations across Michigan to support electric vehicle (EV) travel. With $9,721,052 allocated for the program, funding is distributed in two phases, targeting the reduction of light-duty vehicle emissions, particularly nitrogen oxides (NOx) and fine particulate matter (PM2.5). Phase I focuses on DCFC infrastructure, while Phase II will expand to include Alternating Current (AC) Level 2 charging projects. Eligible applicants include public and private organizations within Michigan or those with significant EV infrastructure experience and presence in the state. The application deadline is ongoing until funds are exhausted.
