Supporting Neighborhoods Grants 2025
This funding opportunity supports nonprofit organizations in Northeast Florida that are focused on improving neighborhood leadership, affordable housing access, and economic opportunities for marginalized residents.
Description
The Supporting Neighborhoods Grants are offered by The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida to support nonprofit organizations working to enhance neighborhood leadership, improve access to affordable housing, and expand economic opportunities for marginalized residents in Northeast Florida. The foundation has a longstanding history of partnering with organizations that uplift local neighborhoods and strengthen community resilience. Through this grant program, the foundation aims to foster grassroots efforts and empower community-driven solutions.
Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations with a valid 501(c)(3) status and at least two years of operational history. Additionally, organizations must have an annual operating budget of $100,000 or above. The grant is specifically intended for projects serving the counties of Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns in Florida. Faith-based organizations may apply if their programs serve the broader community without promoting religious beliefs. However, funding is not available for athletic associations, fundraising event sponsorships, schools, school-affiliated groups, or projects outside the eligible region.
The maximum grant amount awarded per applicant is $25,000. The funding period spans from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2027, meaning all grant-funded activities must occur within this timeframe. Applications for the grant open on January 2, 2025, and the deadline for submission is March 6, 2025, by 11:59 PM. Grantmaking staff are available for assistance with applications from January 3, 2025, through March 5, 2025, through in-person, virtual, or phone appointments.
Applications must be submitted online through the foundation’s grant portal. Prospective applicants are encouraged to review the "How to Apply Guide" for detailed application instructions. The grant review process will evaluate applications based on alignment with program objectives, the potential impact on the community, and organizational capacity. The grant aims to fund initiatives that demonstrate measurable community improvement.
