WCF Community Action Grant Program in Wisconsin
This grant provides funding for innovative projects that enhance education, arts, and economic development to benefit the Whitewater community in Wisconsin.
Description
The Whitewater Community Foundation (WCF) offers Community Action Grants (CAG) twice a year to support projects that benefit various segments of the community. The foundation's board of directors selects initiatives that align with the community’s needs and values. Proposals are due annually on April 30th for the spring cycle and October 31st for the fall cycle. Funding decisions are announced by the end of the following month. Grant recipients may apply for subsequent grants on an annual basis, provided they demonstrate the successful completion of previously awarded projects.
The Community Action Grants support initiatives that enhance arts, environmental sustainability, and recreational opportunities. WCF also provides fiscal sponsorship to organizations that are in the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) nonprofit status or require temporary pass-through funding for community projects. These grants are designed to address specific community needs through innovative and effective programming.
Eligibility is open to organizations that can demonstrate a well-defined mission, operational stability, financial responsibility, and strong community impact. The selection criteria include innovation, demonstrated community need, organizational capacity, leadership skill, financial strength, program design, sustainability, resource maximization, and anticipated impact. Applications must align with WCF’s mission and follow the application guidelines.
Applicants are required to submit a completed grant application, which is evaluated using WCF’s Proposal Evaluation Rubric. The rubric assesses projects based on their ability to address community needs, financial health, sustainability, and overall impact. Applications must be submitted electronically or by mail. Organizations interested in applying or requiring assistance may contact WCF via email.
The foundation encourages collaborative efforts and seeks proposals that avoid duplication of existing services. Preference is given to organizations that demonstrate strong partnerships and long-term sustainability plans. Successful applicants must provide measurable outcomes and a clear strategy for project implementation.
