The trust supports one organization in each of the three designated fields. Public health grants are intended for organizations that will further distribute the funding to an individual pursuing a doctoral degree in public health at an accredited educational institution. Educational grants must be used to fund a project or program aimed at engaging children in environmental improvement, with "environment" broadly defined to include physical, social, intellectual, or economic aspects. Social services grants support initiatives focused on housing, education, and/or employment for disadvantaged youths interested in social service careers.

To be eligible for funding, applicants must be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Additionally, organizations must demonstrate that the grant funds will be used explicitly for one of the three purposes outlined in the trust’s mission. The application process is open year-round, but all submissions must be received by November 30 to be reviewed at the annual grant meeting held in January.

The trust awards an average of three grants annually, each typically valued at $5,000. Applicants will receive an automated confirmation email upon submission. Grant recipients are required to submit a progress report within six months of receiving the funds unless otherwise specified at the time of the award.
