Pinellas Community Foundation

This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations and government agencies for projects that improve housing, wellness, and support services for senior citizens aged 55 and older in Pinellas County, Florida.

Description

The Senior Citizens Services Grants are administered by the Pinellas Community Foundation (PCF) through a fund established in 2019 by Senior Citizens Services, Inc. (SCS), a former 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This fund supports initiatives that expand and improve direct service programs for residents aged 55 and older in Pinellas County, Florida. The grants are specifically designed to enhance the quality of life for this demographic, known as the ACT II generation, by providing targeted support in the areas of Housing, Wellness, and Senior Support Services.

For the 2025-2026 grant cycle, SCS will offer competitive grants of up to $20,000 for projects aligned with each funding priority. Housing-related grant applications require a Letter of Intent (LOI) submitted between January 6 and January 20, 2025. Notifications for Housing grants will be issued by March 10, 2025, with the project period running from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. Wellness applications must submit LOIs from April 1 to April 15, 2025, with awards announced on June 6, 2025, and the funded projects conducted from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. For Senior Support Services, LOIs are due between October 1 and October 15, 2025, with award notifications on December 5, 2025. Those projects are scheduled to run from January 1 to December 31, 2026.

Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or government agencies. All projects must serve residents aged 55 and older and operate exclusively within Pinellas County. Each request must directly correspond to one of the three funding priorities. All applications must be submitted online, in full, and on time. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Awards range from $800 to $20,000 depending on the demonstrated need and available funds. Priority is given to proposals from social service organizations, although arts and culture organizations may also apply.

Each grantee is required to submit both six-month and twelve-month Community Impact Reports as part of the evaluation process. Failure to submit these reports may result in disqualification from future funding. Additionally, recipients must publicly acknowledge Senior Citizens Services by displaying the SCS logo on their websites with a link to the PCF page, as well as in printed and digital materials. Grantees are also expected to host up to three SCS or PCF board members or staff for an annual facility tour. Exceptions to these obligations must be formally requested and approved in writing prior to submission.

Applicants may direct questions to PCF staff via email at grants@pinellascf.org. An online application system is accessible through the “Apply Now” link on the foundation’s website, and applicants are encouraged not to wait until the final week to begin their submissions. Technical assistance and scheduling for office hours are also available. The complete 2026 grant calendar will be announced in December 2025.
