Applications are accepted from June 1 to July 31, with awards ranging from $1,000 to $15,000, disbursed in October. Only one proposal per organization per cycle is allowed, with specific limitations for public school applications. Churches, faith-based organizations, and private schools are not eligible. Declined requests in the past have included wine-centric events, beauty pageants, individual initiatives, and large national organizations without local beneficiaries.
