Description

Program: Community-Built Playspace Grants
Funder: KABOOM!
Award Details: Successful applicants will receive a new, custom-designed playground and hand-crafted amenities for their community. The program also offers assistance in fundraising, building relationships, and developing media relations skills. The grant opportunity is specific to certain cities or metropolitan areas within the United States.

Eligibility:
- Applicants must provide services to a low-income and/or special needs community.
- They should have no playground or need to replace an existing unsafe or outdated one.
- Collaboration with the community is required, with guidance from dedicated KABOOM! Community Engagement and Build Managers.
- Applicants must partially fundraise the cost of equipment.
- They must own the land or have a long-term lease with permission from the landowner.
- Ability to recruit a planning committee and approximately 100 community members for Build Day is necessary.
- Site preparation on at least 2,500 square feet is required, including removing old equipment or asphalt.
- Timely completion of soil tests, utility checks, and construction permits is necessary.
- Identifying community resources for additional in-kind contributions is expected.
- Ownership and maintenance responsibilities for the playspace upon completion are required.
