Idaho Youth in Philanthropy Project

This program empowers rural high school students to develop leadership skills and make a positive impact in their communities by awarding grants to local nonprofits addressing critical needs.

Description

The Idaho Youth in Philanthropy Project (YIPP) is a hands-on leadership program focused on preparing youth in rural communities to become the next generation of philanthropists. The program aims to empower rural high school students to address unique challenges in their communities by awarding grants to nonprofits tackling critical local needs. YIPP develops leadership, critical thinking, and collaboration skills while emphasizing the role of nonprofits in solving complex issues specific to rural areas. Through mentorship and real-world decision-making, students will experience firsthand the power of philanthropy in small communities, gaining tools and inspiration to strengthen their hometowns and foster lifelong civic engagement. The program prioritizes youth participation from rural communities and is not open to high schools from larger towns or cities.
