Description
The Erie Women’s Fund (EWF), a component of The Erie Community Foundation, is currently accepting applications for its 2025 Major Grant. Founded in 2007, the EWF is dedicated to empowering women and families through impactful philanthropic efforts. Over the years, it has awarded more than $1.1 million in funding to nonprofits in alignment with its mission. In addition to grantmaking, EWF engages its members through educational forums, informational meetings, and social gatherings, fostering a community of informed, active participants.
The 2025 Major Grant offers a one-time award of $100,000 to support projects that directly address the needs of women and families in Erie. The fund is specifically seeking bold, innovative proposals that deliver measurable outcomes within a 12-month period. Eligible project areas include Economic Stability, Education Access and Quality, Health Care Access and Quality, Neighborhood and Built Environment, and Social and Community Context. The goal is to produce tangible improvements in the lives of women and families within the Erie region.
The application process for this competitive grant opens on February 21, 2025, with a final submission deadline of April 18, 2025. Interested applicants must review the official Request for Proposals (RFP) document to confirm eligibility and understand submission requirements. The RFP includes specific guidelines regarding what constitutes an eligible project, as well as the evaluation criteria used to assess applications.
To ensure alignment with the Fund’s priorities and grant parameters, applicants are strongly encouraged to develop proposals that emphasize clear metrics, achievable results, and long-term benefits for Erie’s women and families. The EWF is looking for proposals that can demonstrate significant impact in a relatively short time frame, making strong project planning and evidence-based strategies essential for success.
The Erie Women’s Fund also invites individuals interested in contributing to their mission to become members. Membership tiers range from Bronze ($250) to Platinum ($2,500+), and members receive voting rights on the annual major grant, access to all events, and opportunities to join one of four committees. This community-driven approach enhances EWF’s commitment to inclusive philanthropy and shared decision-making.
