Add an Artist Mini-Grants 2024
This funding opportunity supports nonprofit organizations and individual artists in Fulton, Montgomery, and Saratoga Counties to create public art projects that engage the community and enhance arts participation.
Description
The Add-An-Artist Mini-Grants are part of the 2024 Community Arts Regrant Program administered by Saratoga Arts. These grants aim to support nonprofit organizations and individual artists in Fulton, Montgomery, and Saratoga Counties who wish to enhance community engagement through public art. Grants are available in amounts of $1,000, and applicants may submit only one request, provided they have not already received $4,000 or more in other Statewide Community Regrant (SCR) funding for FY2024. The program encourages projects that integrate art into public events, supplement artist fees to make arts participation more affordable, reach diverse audiences, and showcase unique exhibitions.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, government or tribal entities, and individual artists residing in the service area. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, not enrolled in a full-time degree program, and must demonstrate proof of residency. Ineligible applicants include previous recipients of Individual Artist Grants within the past three years and those who have already received significant SCR funding for the current fiscal year. The funded projects must occur before December 31, 2024, and be accessible to the public.
Projects will be evaluated based on artistic merit, community engagement, and feasibility. Funding decisions are made by a panel of local arts professionals and community representatives. The grant covers artist fees and project expenses but excludes costs such as capital expenditures, general operating expenses, entertainment, and projects not directly related to the arts. Additionally, the grant cannot fund projects with religious, therapeutic, or recreational purposes.
Applications are due by November 22, 2024, and can be submitted exclusively online. Applicants must include proof of residency, an artist resume, and artistic support materials. Grant recipients are required to sign a Cultural Services Agreement, promote their projects with proper credit to Saratoga Arts, and ensure project accessibility. A final report must be submitted within 30 days of project completion. Failure to comply with grant terms may affect future funding eligibility.
