Enhance the Lives of Women and Girls in Mississippi
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations in Mississippi to support projects that improve economic security and health for women and girls, particularly in underserved communities.
Description
The Women’s Foundation of Mississippi (WFM) is accepting proposals for its 2025 grant cycle to fund projects that promote economic security for women and girls in Mississippi. As the state’s only organization solely dedicated to enhancing the lives of women and girls through grants, WFM aims to create opportunities for personal stability, stronger families, and resilient communities. The 2025 grants will focus on three priority areas: Healthy Women, Access to Opportunity, and Two-Generation/Whole Family approaches.
Eligible applicants are 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or organizations with a fiscal sponsor operating in Mississippi. WFM anticipates awarding grants ranging from $20,000 to $50,000 for projects spanning 12 months, from February 1, 2025, to December 2025. Proposals should address one or more focus areas, including improving access to health care, supporting education and skills development, and offering family-centered economic mobility programs. Projects must demonstrate measurable outcomes that align with WFM’s mission and priorities.
The proposal submission deadline is December 18, 2024, by 5:00 p.m. CT. Applicants must include detailed project descriptions, budgets, implementation plans, and evaluation strategies. Proposals will be evaluated on alignment with WFM’s focus areas, feasibility, organizational capacity, community engagement, and the clarity of their evaluation methods. Applicants are encouraged to include how their projects prioritize underserved populations, particularly in the Mississippi Delta, and how they incorporate community voices into their work.
Selected grantees will be required to participate in program evaluation activities, attend two convenings, and provide quarterly reports detailing progress, milestones, and outcomes. Reporting will ensure accountability and help WFM offer guidance to maximize project impact. A Q&A session via Zoom will be held on November 22, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. CT to address applicant queries.
Grant awards will be announced on January 22, 2025. Applications must include information about the organization’s mission, project goals, timelines, partnerships, and budget justifications. Emphasis will be placed on projects that support sustainable outcomes, demonstrate strong community engagement, and provide evidence of scalability or replicability.
