Colorado Parks and Wildlife

This program provides funding to landowners and their representatives to protect vital wildlife habitats, improve public access for recreation, and conserve important migration corridors in Colorado.

Description

The Colorado Wildlife Habitat Program (CWHP) offers funding opportunities for landowners to voluntarily protect important wildlife habitats, provide wildlife-related recreational access to the public, and potentially sell their property to Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). The program supports acquiring public access for recreational activities, protecting big game winter ranges and migration corridors, and conserving habitats for species of concern. Eligible applicants include landowners or their designees, such as land trusts or local governments. Proposals are accepted until October 10, 2024, and the awards are based on strategic conservation impacts and project feasibility.
