Description

Carolyn’s Kids grant opportunities aim to support programs in the Benton Harbor, St. Joseph, and Stevensville areas that improve the lives of children and youth. This grant program honors Carolyn Hanson’s dedication to children and her belief that strengthening children is key to the future of the community and the world. The grants are intended for new or existing programs addressing the evolving needs of children. The program is a partnership between the Hanson Family Foundation and the Berrien Community Foundation. Two grants of $50,000 each will be awarded to support children's programming in the specified areas. Eligible applicants include 501c3 nonprofits, schools, churches involved in community work, and governmental agencies. The programs should aim to meet basic needs, enhance educational experiences, address mental and emotional well-being, contribute to safety and security, and prepare children for the future. Applications are due by July 1, and the winners will be announced in September at the Berrien Community Foundation Annual Meeting.
