Description
The City of Pawtucket Small Business Relief Grant Program (SBRGP) is designed to provide financial support to small for-profit businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA), the program offers grants of up to $20,000 based on demonstrated economic impact and reimbursable expenses. Eligible businesses must be located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and meet specific criteria including being operational with fewer than 25 employees, established before March 3, 2021, and situated in a Qualified Census Tract or having gross revenue under $750,000. The program aims to aid recovery and improve impacted areas, with the application process remaining open until funds are fully allocated.
Applicants must provide various documentation, including tax returns, proof of state registration, and current payroll details. Certain businesses, such as franchises and financial institutions, are ineligible. The city reserves the right to pause applications temporarily based on review capacity. Successful applicants must demonstrate the capacity to use the funds effectively and commit to remaining in business for at least 12 months.
