Emergency Solutions Grant
This funding is designed to assist Rockland County in providing essential services and support to individuals and families facing homelessness or housing instability, helping them secure permanent housing and regain stability.
Description
The Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) is awarded annually by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to Rockland County, with the aim of helping families regain stability in permanent housing after experiencing a housing crisis or homelessness. The Rockland County Office of Community Development distributes these funds to non-profit organizations and municipalities across the county to support activities in five key program components: street outreach, emergency shelter, homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing assistance, and data collection through the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). Eligible costs include services for unsheltered persons, shelter renovations and operations, housing relocation and stabilization, rental assistance, and HMIS data management.
