Grants to promote Youth Development in New York
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties to support youth development programs that improve the quality of life in the region.
Description
The Northern New York Community Foundation's (NNYCF) Youth Philanthropy Council invites nonprofit organizations in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties to apply for up to $20,000 in grant funding. These grants support programs and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents in the tri-county area. Applications must be submitted online through the Foundation’s Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM) portal by Friday, January 3, 2025.
The grant program prioritizes nonprofit initiatives across a variety of focus areas, with applications reviewed by the Youth Philanthropy Council, a group of 18 high school students representing schools in the region. Applicants selected as finalists will present their proposals to the council, which will recommend funding allocations to the NNYCF Board of Directors. Grant recipients will be announced following board approval.
Nonprofits must be registered as 501(c)(3) organizations and should register or log in to the GLM portal to submit their applications. An optional virtual grant information session will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 4:00 PM via Zoom. Interested organizations should RSVP by November 19, 2024, or register online.
The Youth Philanthropy Council, established in 2010, fosters youth leadership and community engagement through philanthropy. Since its inception, the council has awarded 145 grants totaling $255,070 to support nonprofit initiatives. The program is made possible through the support of donors and partners, including Watertown Savings Bank and the Renzi Family Charitable Foundation.
