The 2025 Mural Assistance for Artists Grant, administered by the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC), supports the creation of exterior murals in Franklin County, Ohio. This program offers flat grants of $5,000 for traditional murals (painted or sprayed) and $2,500 for digitally produced murals (vinyl wraps), with a focus on projects that contribute to the community’s cultural vibrancy and public art landscape. The grant aims to assist artists in funding their work while fostering strong partnerships between artists and commissioning organizations.

Eligible projects must involve an exterior, publicly visible mural within Franklin County, and artists must have a written contract or letter of intent from the commissioning organization. The hiring entity is required to provide a minimum commitment of $500 and, for digital murals, is responsible for printing and installation costs. Up to 15 artists will be selected, with preference given to applicants from historically marginalized communities. Applications are evaluated by a jury panel of national muralists and GCAC board members, emphasizing artistic excellence, community impact, and the strength of the artist-organization partnership.
