Fischer Family Foundation

This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations and government units in Southwest Florida that support programs improving the well-being and mental health of underprivileged youth aged 8 to 25.

Description

The Fischer Family Foundation provides funding support to nonprofit organizations and government units aiming to improve the lives of underprivileged and low-income individuals, primarily aged 8 to 25, in Southwest Florida. With a mission rooted in enhancing well-being and mental health, the foundation focuses on supporting programs that offer enrichment, education, wellness, and recovery services. Priority is given to those organizations delivering services within the Southwest Florida counties of Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, and Glades, although programs outside these areas may be considered if they demonstrate significant impact or innovation.

The foundation’s funding priorities include substance abuse prevention and education, accessible treatment and recovery services, and harm-reduction initiatives. It also supports mental health services targeting underserved areas, summer camps, overnight retreats, and outdoor education promoting environmental stewardship. Particular attention is paid to providing meaningful and transformative experiences for youth, such as skill-building and opportunities for personal growth, especially for underprivileged populations.

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and units of government. Organizations must serve individuals aged 8 to 25 and demonstrate effectiveness and financial stability through past reports and statements. Applications from (c)(4) and (c)(6) agencies are not accepted. The foundation values high-quality experiences over high-quantity reach, preferring impactful interventions even at a higher per-person cost.

Grants may be provided for specific projects, general operating support, or capacity building. While typical grant awards range from $5,000 to $15,000, larger awards may be given to exceptional projects. Multi-year funding is also considered for organizations with strong performance histories. Applications require a complete online form, including a detailed project proposal and budget, and may begin with an initial inquiry or letter of intent.

The application window for the upcoming funding cycle is from July 1, 2025, to October 31, 2025. All applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. on the final day. Award announcements will be made in December 2025. Applications will be evaluated based on alignment with the foundation’s mission, potential impact, organizational capacity, and fiscal responsibility.
