Description
Grant Opportunity: Healthy Families
The Foundation supports organizations that focus on strengthening families and communities to help them thrive. Eligible organizations include qualified public entities or organizations exempt from tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Private foundations, commercial businesses, and individuals are not eligible for funding.
The Foundation's focus areas within healthy families include building support systems and community engagement to reduce exposure to trauma, as well as providing access to high-quality child care that promotes child development. Programs that address food insecurity, increase access to healthcare, and provide early childhood development programs and Christian education in under-resourced communities are also supported.
Grant requests should be submitted online through the Foundation's grantee portal. It is recommended to submit an application at least four months before the funding is needed. The Foundation typically does not fund more than 25% of a project's budget or more than 10% of an organization's total annual operating budget.
The Foundation funds general operating expenses, specific programs or projects, and capital requests. However, it does not make grants for fundraising events, scholarships, professional conferences, symposiums, performances, competition expenses, or endowments. Lobbying activities are also not supported.
Grants are made to organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and adjoining counties in North Texas. Most grants go to agencies working in underserved communities. Select international organizations may receive grants by invitation only.
A letter of inquiry is not required but can be submitted online via the grantee portal if there is uncertainty about a grant request being a match for the Foundation. Preliminary meetings are discouraged, and the process begins with reviewing an application or letter
