This grant opportunity offers funding for private property owners in New York City to retrofit their roofs with green roofs, aiming to manage stormwater runoff. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and interested property owners must submit a Pre-Application Form to gigrantprogram@dep.nyc.gov. The program includes workshop webinars to explain eligibility requirements and the application process, with registration opening one month prior to each workshop date.
Green roof projects will undergo design review and reimbursement based on soil depth and green roof area, with a minimum project amount of $50,000. Reimbursement rates range from $10 to $30 per square foot based on soil depth.
