Local
Warrick County Community Foundation

This funding opportunity supports nonprofit organizations and government agencies in Warrick County, Indiana, to implement projects that address various community needs, including arts, education, health, and environmental initiatives.

Description

The Community Good Grants Program provides funding to charitable organizations for new or ongoing projects that address a broad range of local needs in Warrick County, Indiana. The funding is made available through the Community Foundation Alliance's Community Good Unrestricted Funds and Field of Interest Funds. Applications for funding are accepted annually, and grantseekers are encouraged to review the program's requirements each year before applying, as funding priorities and eligibility criteria may change.

The purpose of this grant is to support nonprofit organizations and governmental agencies serving Warrick County in implementing programs that benefit the community. Eligible program areas include arts and culture, community development, education, health and mental health, human services, and other civic endeavors such as environmental initiatives, recreation, and youth development. While a wide variety of projects are considered for funding, certain requests are ineligible, including those for religious purposes, political campaigns, debt reduction, capital campaigns, general operating expenses not tied to a project, scholarships, and travel for groups or individuals.

Nonprofit organizations applying must be tax-exempt under sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Governmental agencies are also eligible to apply. Organizations that do not have 501(c)(3) status may still be considered if their project is charitable and meets a community need. In such cases, they may be required to obtain a fiscal sponsor, which must provide a written statement confirming their role in managing the grant funds.

The application cycle opens in January and closes on February 21, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. A virtual Grant Application Orientation Session will be held on January 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., and prospective applicants are encouraged to attend. Applications must include several supporting documents, such as a current board roster, an annual operating budget, the most recent financial statement, and a fiscal sponsor agreement letter if applicable.

A committee of County Advisory Board members and community volunteers reviews all applications, with final funding recommendations presented to the Community Foundation Alliance Board of Directors. Applicants will be notified in writing of the funding decision no later than May 1. Successful applicants may be required to submit a final report upon project completion, as outlined in the grant agreement.

For more information, potential applicants can contact the Community Foundation Alliance at their mailing address (P.O. Box 876, Newburgh, IN 47629) or by phone at 812-897-2030.
