2025 Youth Grant Program
This funding initiative supports nonprofit programs that provide direct services and activities for youth aged birth to 18 in Dearborn County, Indiana, with a focus on those residing in the Lawrenceburg school corporation area.
Description
The City of Lawrenceburg Youth Grant Program is a funding initiative administered by the Dearborn Community Foundation to support youth-focused nonprofit programs throughout Dearborn County, Indiana. The primary goal of this grant program is to serve youth from birth through age 18 by supporting nonprofit organizations that offer direct services or activities that benefit this age group. Programs that serve only a limited number of children when other similar opportunities are widely available are considered ineligible.
This grant program allocates funding strategically based on geographic impact. Specifically, half of the available funds are designated for youth programs where at least 75 percent of the participants reside within the Lawrenceburg school corporation area. The other half is reserved for programs where 90 percent of the youth served live within Dearborn County. All applicants are required to disclose the percentage of their program participants that live in Lawrenceburg and in Dearborn County to determine eligibility for specific funding pools.
Grants under this program have a maximum award of $8,000 per organization per calendar year. While the program supports a wide range of youth services, there are several funding restrictions. The program does not fund salaries, employee benefits, prizes, trophies, medals, awards, All-Star team uniforms, coaches’ uniforms, or any referee- or umpire-related fees. In general, school-sponsored programs or projects are also not eligible. However, exceptions can be made if a school or its sponsored organization first seeks funding from its corresponding Endowment Corporation or Education Foundation. A formal response from the Endowment Corporation or Education Foundation must accompany any application submitted by a school-affiliated entity.
An advisory committee composed of local community representatives is responsible for guiding the Dearborn Community Foundation in determining funding preferences among applicants. This ensures that the funding priorities remain community-driven and responsive to local youth needs.
The 2025 grant cycle includes five application deadlines: February 10, April 14, August 11, October 13, and December 8. All applications must be submitted by 4:00 PM on the listed dates. Organizations with questions about eligibility or the grant process are encouraged to contact the Dearborn Community Foundation directly for support.
The Foundation is located at 322 Walnut Street, Lawrenceburg, Indiana, 47025. For inquiries, applicants may call the foundation office at (812) 539-4115.
