Description
The Annual Depoali Memorial Fund Grants, administered by the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada, provide funding to enhance the educational experience for students in Washoe County, Nevada. The fund honors Kendyl Ruth Williams Depoali, a highly respected educator and former principal in the Washoe County School District, whose 33-year career was marked by dedication to student success and a commitment to equal opportunity through public education.
The fund supports innovative projects that directly benefit students in Washoe County’s public elementary, middle, and high schools. Eligible applicants include principals, teachers, administrators, and student organizations with faculty support and approval. Grants may be used for classroom tools and supplies, curriculum development, professional development, or other classroom-based improvements. The goal of the fund is to enable creative and impactful initiatives that enhance the learning environment and outcomes for students.
Grants are awarded once per year, with one or more awards of up to $4,000 each. The application period is open annually, with proposals due by 5:00 PM on October 31. Final decisions are made and communicated by November 30, and disbursement of funds occurs in early December.
