2025 Tech Deployment Track Program
This program supports for-profit climate tech companies ready to deploy innovative solutions in Alaska, focusing on energy, transportation, and industrial applications, while fostering collaboration with local markets and stakeholders.
Description
The Tech Deployment Track is a selective, eight-month accelerator program offered by Launch Alaska, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Anchorage. This program is designed to catalyze the deployment of climate tech solutions across Alaska by supporting companies ready to engage deeply with local markets, infrastructure, and community challenges. Launch Alaska’s mission is to accelerate the energy transition and decarbonization efforts by connecting climate technology startups with Alaskan partners, customers, and stakeholders.
Funded with support from the U.S. Department of the Navy’s Office of Naval Research and the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Technology Transitions, the program fosters project deployment across a broad range of climate-relevant sectors. It is particularly focused on solutions for energy, transportation, and industrial applications, including technologies in hydrogen, robotics, IIoT, carbon tech, alternative fuels, clean energy generation, permafrost management, environmental remediation, and more.
The Tech Deployment Track targets for-profit, scalable companies with a tech readiness level (TRL) between 4 and 9 and with a product or service that is ready or nearly ready for deployment. Participation requires a commitment from a senior executive, ideally the CEO, to attend all sessions—both virtual and in-person. Proficiency in English and familiarity with digital collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Suite) are necessary. Companies must also demonstrate a strong case for why their solution is a good fit for deployment in Alaska, including alignment with the region’s unique energy and infrastructure challenges.
Key dates include an application deadline of May 1, 2025, followed by notification of acceptance in early July 2025. Program orientation will begin on August 26, 2025, with sessions scheduled through April 2026. Companies will participate in intensive collaboration sessions including the Facilitate Session (Sept 16), Strategy Session (Sept 29–Oct 2), Capture Session (Nov 3–6), and Deploy Session (March 16–19). The program concludes in April 2026 with a capstone “Impact” session, and eligible companies may be invited to join Launch Alaska’s Portfolio for continued post-program support and network access.
While the program itself is free, companies are responsible for all costs related to transportation, lodging, and meals during required in-person events in Anchorage. Non-U.S. companies are welcome to apply, though establishing a U.S. entity may be necessary for certain partnerships or investment opportunities. Applicants are evaluated based on their technology’s readiness, business model validation, potential for deployment in Alaska, and the overall clarity and professionalism of their applications.
