Description

The Livestock Foundation's Community Grant Program provides financial support for project-based initiatives that align with the foundation’s mission to protect and promote the human, economic, and natural resources of Delaware County, New York. The program seeks to foster collaboration among local organizations and encourages proposals that benefit the community in meaningful and measurable ways.

The grant offers awards ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 to eligible organizations. To qualify, applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits or tax-exempt public, religious, charitable, or municipal organizations based in Delaware County, NY. The foundation emphasizes that the program is not intended to support general operational expenses but rather specific, future-focused projects that have clearly defined objectives, budgets, and timelines.

Applications are due by May 5, 2025, and must be submitted through the foundation's designated online portal. Each application must include a completed application form with detailed project information, a project budget form documenting a 1:1 match of grant funds to expected revenues, proof of nonprofit status, the organization’s current year operating budget, and two years of tax returns.

Eligible project expenses include capital purchases, materials, contracted labor, marketing, and other project-related operational costs. The program does not fund salaries, rent, mortgages, or utilities. Only future expenses are eligible; the grant does not retroactively fund completed projects.

Successful applicants are required to submit a final report within 90 days of the project’s conclusion. This report must include a Final Report Form, an itemized expense budget with matching revenue, and proof of purchase for each expense. Evaluations are based on the clarity and feasibility of the project plan, its alignment with the foundation’s mission, the need for funding, and the applicant’s capacity to complete the proposed project successfully and on schedule.

Organizations uncertain about their eligibility are encouraged to contact the foundation directly at info@livestockfoundation.org.
