GRANT OPPORTUNITY 2024/2025: Statement of Interest
This grant provides funding for individuals and Malta-based NGOs to develop initiatives that promote human rights, press empowerment, and strengthen the U.S.-Malta relationship.
Description
The U.S. Embassy in Malta is offering a grant opportunity under its Public Diplomacy Grants program, titled "Statement of Interest" (SOI) for 2024/2025 (Funding Opportunity Number: OFOP0001669). This program is intended to support initiatives by individuals and Malta-based NGOs that align with Embassy goals, including advancing human rights and press empowerment, while also promoting a strong U.S.-Malta bilateral relationship and enhancing public understanding of the United States in Malta.
The Embassy will accept Statements of Interest (SOI) between November 2024 and June 2025. An SOI is a preliminary concept note that succinctly outlines a program idea and its objectives before a full proposal is requested. This two-step process allows applicants to submit initial ideas for review; successful SOIs may then be invited to submit a detailed proposal for funding consideration. SOIs must clearly demonstrate a meaningful U.S. connection, such as U.S. organizations, experts, or best practices, to qualify for further consideration. Proposals lacking significant U.S. linkage will not be eligible.
Awards will range from $5,000 to $10,000, with an anticipated six awards. No cost-sharing or matching funds are required. The grant aims to support programs that effectively advance U.S. Embassy goals, foster shared values, enhance bilateral cooperation, and raise public visibility for the U.S. Embassy in Malta.
Interested applicants can find further information through the U.S. Mission’s MyGrants portal or by contacting Joanna Zingariello for assistance with the application process.
