The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation (FBCF) is now accepting applications for its Scientific Research Grants program, which funds innovative breast cancer research projects conducted within the state of Florida. This grant supports research aimed at advancing understanding and treatment of breast cancer, with a focus on collaborative, multidisciplinary projects that may have transformative impacts. Each grant provides up to $100,000 for a one-year project, with a preference for new investigators and multi-disciplinary teams.
Key deadlines include a Letter of Intent (LOI) due on December 13, 2024, by 5:00 pm EST and a full application deadline on February 14, 2025, by 5:00 pm EST. All submissions must be made via ProposalCentral.com. Eligible applicants are Florida-based non-profits, government entities, educational institutions, and Indian tribes, or 501(c)(3) organizations with a physical, year-round presence in Florida. All grant activities and expenditures must occur within Florida, and projects must align with priority areas such as clinical research, environmental factors, epidemiology, psycho-immunology, and more.
Funding is restricted to scientific and clinical work in Florida, with a cap on indirect costs at 20%. Equipment and patient care costs are excluded from indirect cost calculations. Only applicants in compliance with past and current FBCF grants may apply, and those with recent fraud convictions are ineligible.
