Time Land Purchase Grant Program
This grant provides funding to conservation organizations worldwide to purchase and protect threatened biodiverse lands.
Description
This grant opportunity is offered by This is My Earth (TiME), a non-profit organization dedicated to conserving biodiversity and protecting ecosystems worldwide. The Land Purchase Grant Program provides funding for local partner organizations to purchase land for the purpose of biodiversity conservation. The program is open to conservation organizations globally that wish to acquire biodiverse lands under threat of destruction or degradation.
By partnering with TiME, organizations can benefit from funding for the purchase of private lands in threatened biodiverse habitats, ensuring their long-term protection. The land will be owned and managed by the local partner organization, providing them with global exposure through TiME's network of supporters and educational program. TiME's educational program engages children worldwide in learning about and addressing conservation challenges, inspiring the next generation of conservation leaders.
To be eligible for the grant program, partner organizations must meet certain criteria. The proposed land must be located in a biodiversity hotspot or an area with high conservation value and be under threat. The partner organization must have a clear conservation objective, a plan for long-term management and protection of the land, and the legal and institutional capacity to purchase, manage, and protect the land. They must also demonstrate their non-profit or non-governmental organization status.
There is no maximum funding limit, but the average grant amount is between US$20,000 and US$60,000, with an upper limit of around US$100,000 depending on the partner organization's budget and needs. Interested organizations can submit an online application to TiME, which will be reviewed by the Scientific Advisory Committee. If approved, TiME will launch a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for the land purchase, with donors voting on their preferred project. For more information, visit TiME's website.
