Description
The Neighborhood Climate Resilience Grant (NCRG) Program is an initiative by the City of Richmond's Office of Sustainability, designed to support equity-centered, neighborhood-based planning and climate resilience projects within Richmond, Virginia. This program aligns with the city's RVAgreen 2050 Climate Equity Action Plan 2030 and its commitment to sustainability and resilience.
The NCRG Program provides financial support to Richmond-based non-profit organizations and partners working on the front lines of climate change. The grants aim to enhance community resilience by funding projects that address environmental challenges and promote sustainability.
In its inaugural cycle, the program awarded over $850,000 to local non-profits, supporting a diverse range of projects, including urban forestry initiatives, community design efforts, and sustainable food systems.
The program is currently in its second year, continuing to support organizations that build climate resilience in frontline communities throughout Richmond.
