Community Foundation of Otsego County Grant 2024
This funding opportunity supports nonprofit organizations in Otsego County that provide innovative programs addressing the basic needs and enrichment of children from birth through elementary school.
Description
The Community Foundation of Otsego County (CFOC) is offering $50,000 in funding through its Fall 2024 Awards Cycle, aimed at supporting programs focused on enrichment and basic needs for children from birth through elementary school. The foundation seeks to fund programs that adopt new approaches and expand the number of children served. Key areas of interest include health-related needs (mental health, dental hygiene), necessities supporting learning (such as clothing and nutrition), transportation to enrichment programs, training for childcare workers, and removing cost barriers to participation in arts and sports enrichment programs.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations operating within Otsego County, as well as groups fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3). Religious organizations can apply, but the funded projects must benefit the general public rather than serving only a religious congregation. Preference is given to requests under $10,000 and to one-time or startup expenses.
Funds cannot be used for capital projects, direct grants to individuals or businesses, fundraising efforts, or recurring operational expenses. Applications are due by November 8, 2024, and awards will be announced by the end of the following month. Recipients will need to submit a final report on how the funds were used, detailing the program’s success, challenges, and lessons learned. Applicants who have received prior awards must have submitted a final report before applying for additional funding.
For questions or assistance, applicants are encouraged to contact the foundation at contact@cfotsego.org or call 607-286-3750.
