2025 Small Business Marketing Grant
This program provides funding to small businesses with 25 or fewer employees in Garrett County, Maryland, to support their marketing efforts.
Description
The FY 2025 Small Business Marketing Grant Program is designed to assist small, for-profit businesses with 25 or fewer employees in Garrett County, Maryland, by providing funding for marketing initiatives. Eligible businesses must have a physical presence in Garrett County and be in good standing with state and local authorities. Notably, home-based businesses and independent contractors are ineligible for this program. Grants are available up to $1,000, covering 90% of approved project costs, with the business owner responsible for contributing at least 10% of the project expenses.
To apply, businesses must complete the Small Business Marketing Grant Application, IRS W-9 form, and Vendor Information Request form, ensuring the same address is used across all documents to facilitate mail receipt. Expenses incurred prior to grant approval or unrelated to the marketing project outlined in the application are ineligible for reimbursement. Successful applicants will receive notification of grant approval and must adhere to specific guidelines regarding eligible expenses and required documentation. Recipients are required to submit all receipts, photos or screenshots of purchased items, and proof of payment within 90 days of grant approval. Failure to submit these items on time will result in forfeiture of funds.
Grant awards are considered taxable income, and recipients will receive a 1099 form at the end of the calendar year 2025. Each business can only receive one award per fiscal year, and funds are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until all available funds are exhausted. Compliance with all grant requirements, as outlined in the detailed guidelines accompanying the application, is essential to maintain eligibility and secure reimbursement.
