K-12 In School and Community Based Learning Grant
This grant provides funding for arts education projects in Warren and Washington Counties, NY, aimed at K-12 schools and community groups to promote hands-on artistic experiences.
Description
The 2025 Art Education Grant, managed by the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council (LARAC) through the Statewide Community Regrant Program (SCR), supports arts education projects in Warren and Washington Counties, NY. Funding ranges from $500 to $5,000 for projects taking place between January 1 and December 31, 2025. Applications are due December 6, 2024, and must be mailed or hand-delivered; late or emailed submissions will not be accepted. All new applicants must attend a seminar or meet with the Grant Coordinator.
Grants are available for two types of projects: K-12 in-school programs and community-based learning initiatives. In-school projects must involve partnerships with public schools, provide sequential, skills-based learning, and emphasize age-appropriate, participatory opportunities. Community-based projects target closed groups, such as senior facilities or camps, and follow similar guidelines emphasizing creative, hands-on experiences. All projects must focus on exploring art and the artistic process, culminating in exhibitions, productions, or demonstrations.
Eligible applicants include nonprofits, government entities, Tribal Nations, and individual artists or groups with appropriate partnerships or fiscal sponsors. Projects must take place in the applicant’s or partner’s county. Ineligible entities include NYSCA direct applicants, for-profit businesses, and those lacking an eligible sponsor or partner. Funding cannot be used for capital expenses, permanent equipment, operating costs of private facilities, or projects that award cash prizes or scholarships.
Applications must include a detailed description of the project, objectives, methodologies, and evaluation plans. Supporting materials such as lesson plans, work samples, and letters of recommendation are encouraged. A preview deadline on November 8, 2024, allows applicants to receive feedback for revisions before the final submission.
Successful applicants must credit NYSCA and LARAC in all promotional materials, file reports, and, if applicable, provide complimentary access for evaluation. Detailed guidelines and application assistance are available on LARAC’s website or through direct contact with the Grant Coordinator.
