Sky Ranch Foundation

This funding opportunity supports programs that assist at-risk youth aged 11-18, particularly those aged 11-15, by providing services aimed at preventing criminal justice involvement and promoting rehabilitation through education, job training, and counseling.

Description

The Sky Ranch Foundation provides funding to support programs and organizations serving at-risk youth aged 11-18, with a particular focus on youth between 11-15. The Foundation prioritizes initiatives that aim to prevent youth involvement in the criminal justice system or provide long-term rehabilitation through residential or alternative settings. Funded programs often include services such as education, job training, enrichment activities, counseling, and case management.

Grants are available to public charities classified under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or federally recognized Native American tribes. Eligible programs must operate within the United States, its possessions and territories, or on Native American tribal lands. Typical grant awards range from $5,000 to $40,000, though grants outside this range may be considered at the discretion of the Foundation's directors. The Foundation does not fund political campaigns, lobbying, fundraising activities, endowments, individual support, conferences, or missionary work.

The Sky Ranch Foundation utilizes a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) process with an annual application cycle. Organizations must submit LOIs no later than January 31 of each year. The Foundation’s board reviews LOIs and makes funding decisions during its summer meeting. Late submissions or those outside the guidelines will not be considered.

The LOI should be two to three pages and include the following: contact details, organizational history and activities, a description of the project (including amount requested, purpose, and timeline), financial information (organizational and project budgets), revenue sources, funders, and key staff qualifications. Submissions must be emailed to Dori Bryant at doribryant501@gmail.com and copied to Jill Damato at jill_damato@bofa.com. Physical submissions are not accepted.
