This funding opportunity provides financial support to organizations that will enhance telehealth services and training, particularly in rural and underserved communities across the United States.

Description

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has announced funding opportunities for the Regional Telehealth Resource Centers (HRSA-25-042) and National Telehealth Resource Centers (HRSA-25-043) Telehealth Resource Center Program for fiscal year 2025. These programs aim to support telehealth implementation, training, and technical assistance across the United States, with a focus on serving rural areas, frontier communities, medically underserved areas, and medically underserved populations. The funding is administered by the Office for the Advancement of Telehealth within HRSA’s Telehealth Innovation and Services Division.

The Regional Telehealth Resource Centers (RTRCs) Program (HRSA-25-042) will fund 12 cooperative agreements, each supporting a telehealth resource center located in a specific geographic region. These centers will provide expert technical assistance on telehealth service development, training, policy guidance, and program implementation. They will disseminate research findings, promote collaboration, and ensure equitable distribution of telehealth resources across their designated regions.

The National Telehealth Resource Centers (NTRCs) Program (HRSA-25-043) will fund two cooperative agreements, with each center focusing on a specialized area: one for telehealth policy and one for telehealth technology. These national centers will support the regional resource centers by providing high-level policy and technical expertise, ensuring the effective adoption and integration of telehealth services nationwide.

HRSA anticipates awarding a total of $4,550,000 for these programs in FY 2025, with $3,900,000 allocated for the regional centers and $650,000 for the national centers. Each awardee may receive up to $325,000 per year for a four-year project period (September 1, 2025 – August 31, 2029). There are no cost-sharing or matching requirements.

Eligibility for this funding opportunity includes public and private institutions of higher education, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, state and local governments, independent school districts, and tribal organizations. Applicants must demonstrate experience in telehealth services and technical assistance and submit proof of consultation with state rural health offices or other relevant state entities.

Applications are due by April 14, 2025, with an anticipated award announcement by August 1, 2025, and project start date of September 1, 2025. HRSA will host an informational webinar, and additional details can be found on Grants.gov (HRSA-25-042 and HRSA-25-043).
