This program provides $10,000 salary supplements to qualified nursing faculty in Illinois to support their professional development and retention in nursing education.

Description

The Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) FY25 Nurse Educator Fellowship Program provides $10,000 salary supplements to eligible nursing faculty to ensure the retention of well-qualified educators in Illinois. The program is designed to reward and retain educators who prepare students for careers as registered professional nurses and contribute significantly to their nursing programs. Funding is disbursed to the nominating institution on behalf of the selected Fellow, who may use the funds for professional development, conference expenses, continuing education, or other related purposes.

Fellowship recipients are chosen based on competitive criteria, including their contributions to the nursing program, efforts to promote equity and diversity in the workforce, and plans for professional growth. Recipients are required to participate in statewide nursing advocacy efforts and submit a final report on the use of funds. Institutions may nominate up to three full-time nursing faculty members annually.
