Maternity Group Home
This funding opportunity provides financial support to organizations that offer stable housing and essential services for homeless pregnant or parenting youth aged 16 to 22, helping them achieve long-term independence and well-being.
Description
The Maternity Group Home (MGH) program, administered by the Administration for Children & Families (ACF) Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB), offers funding to provide stable housing and essential services for homeless pregnant or parenting youth aged 16 to under 22. MGH program grants support up to 18 months of residency in a safe and structured environment, extendable to 21 months in certain cases, accommodating both young parents and their dependent children. The aim is to facilitate long-term economic independence, stability, and well-being for the youth and their children through housing support coupled with specialized services.
The MGH program delivers comprehensive services that include but are not limited to parenting skills, child development, family budgeting, and health and nutrition education. In addition to these specialized supports, all MGH providers are required to offer the services outlined under the broader Transitional Living Program, which addresses the four core outcome areas essential to advancing the overall quality of life for program participants. Facility requirements specify safety standards for all occupants, especially infants and young children, ensuring that environments meet their unique developmental and safety needs.
An estimated $8,046,000 in total program funding will be available for fiscal year 2025, with 32 anticipated awards ranging from $100,000 to $250,000 per project.
