Description
The Spokane Parks Foundation’s Community Grants program funds projects and programs that improve public parks and support outdoor recreation across Spokane County. The 2025 grant cycle is currently open, with applications due by midnight on November 30, 2024. Priority will be given to initiatives that expand park access for underserved communities, promote inclusivity and accessibility, provide long-term benefits, and enhance overall quality of life. Grants are typically awarded in amounts between $1,000 and $8,000.
Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations, recognized Native American tribes, public agencies, or unincorporated groups with a 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor. Priority will also be given to applicants who have not previously received Spokane Parks Foundation funding, demonstrate strong community involvement, and show evidence of collaboration with other funding sources. Projects must be completed within 12 months unless an extension is approved.
The foundation does not fund routine maintenance, operational or administrative expenses, debt retirement, lobbying, religious programming, or projects meant to replace lapsed government funding. Applications are not accepted from grantees who have failed to submit required reports from prior grants. Additionally, the Spokane Parks Foundation will not fund organizations that discriminate based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, or disability.
